Released earlier this year (and one of our top horror games in the first half of 2026), publisher Selecta Play and indie studio FYRE Games have announced that the PlayStation 5 physical edition for its narrative-driven, horror game Project Songbird is now available at retailers.
Project Songbird receives a physical release for PlayStation 5 after a successful digital debut thanks to its cinematic approach to storytelling. Selecta Play brings this intensely personal tale of creative madness to the physical realm, allowing collectors and horror enthusiasts to own a boxed edition of solo developer Conner Rush’s most ambitious project to date.
Set deep beneath the isolating canopy of the Appalachian forest, Project Songbird explores the dark side of the creative process. Players will take on the role of Dakota, a struggling career musician who, while suffering from writer’s block, heads to a remote log cabin to record their new album. As they search amongst the pines for a spark of creativity, they soon discover something more lurks in the darkness – and that not all inspirations are positive.
Equally inspired by the narratively-driven titles such as Firewatch and What Remains of Edith Finch with hints of Silent Hill and Alan Wake, players will immerse themselves in a dark 4-5 hour narrative presented with a “cinematic, film-like aesthetic” as they traverse the numerous and diverse environments in Project Songbird.
Complimenting the visuals is the game’s visuals is the voice cast, featuring Valerie Rose Lohman (What Remains of Edith Finch, Wolfenstein: Youngblood), Jonah Scott (Dying Light 2: Stay Human), and Aleks Le (Persona 3: Reloaded, Ghost of Yotei). It’s all set to a “dynamic and haunting soundtrack” composed and performed by Auric Echoes members Jacob Noska and Jonah Henthorne.
Project Songbird is also available digitally for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PCw of Project Songbird
