Did you know that a lot of people like Fortnite? Did you also know that a lot of people like Five Nights at Freddy’s? Well, these are both true statements, and if you want proof, take a look at Fortnite’s official tweet revealing that crossover skins from FNAF are coming to the battle royale in October.
On September 27, after some initial teasing and lots of rumors, Fortnite officially revealed its big FNAF crossover set to happen during the game’s annual Halloween event, Fortnitemares. The tweet directly tagged FNAF developer Scott Games, confirmed FNAF characters are arriving on October 1, and featured a 40-second gameplay trailer showing off the Five Nights at Freddy’s skins in action.

As of Monday morning, the tweet has 20 million views, 319,000 likes, and over 65,000 retweets. As the tweet announcing the FNAF crossover has now become Fortnite‘s most liked tweet ever. It is also potentially the most liked video game crossover promo tweet in history. It has racked up over 1.7 million views on YouTube already, too
To provide some context as to just how popular this FNAF post is, Rockstar’s tweet in August announcing the first official gameplay reveal for Grand Theft Auto 6 has 52,000 retweets and 288,000 likes. And while there are some other GTA 6-related tweets that have blown up even more than the FNAF x Fortnite post, it’s clear that people are very, very excited about this Halloween IP mashup.
Interestingly, over on the FNAF subreddit, the vibes are mostly positive, with fans of the franchise pumped about the crossover. Many are even suggesting that the in-game FortniteFNAF skins are some of the best-looking and most detailed official models of the original, creepy animatronic characters ever created.
Also arriving on October 1 in Fortnite as part of the game’s annual Halloween festivities are skins inspired by the Purge films, Beetlejuice-related content, and the addition of ’80s slasher legend Freddy Krueger. He joins Ghostface, Leatherface, Jason Voorhees, and Michael Myers as the latest famous movie murderer to drop into the Fortnite sandbox.
