Rock and comics are about to collide in a big way
Mike McCready, the legendary guitarist behind Pearl Jam, Temple of the Dog, and Mad Season, is stepping into the world of graphic novels with Mike McCready’s Farewell to Seasons—an ambitious multimedia project more than two decades in the making. Even better? Fans will get a chance to learn more about it during San Diego Comic-Con 2026
But that’s only half of the experience
The deluxe editions also include FAREWELL TO SEASONS, a brand-new “lost” rock opera written and recorded by McCready. Framed as music created by the story’s fictional lead character, David Williams, the album serves as a companion piece that expands the narrative beyond the page
Vinyl collectors have plenty to get excited about, too. The deluxe edition features the album pressed on exclusive Rain City Yellow vinyl, while the Platinum package includes a stunning Translucent Elliot Bay Green pressing. Even more enticing, the album won’t be available on streaming services or digital platforms at launch, making these editions the only way to hear the music
McCready’s unmistakable guitar work has helped define generations of rock fans through unforgettable songs like “Yellow Ledbetter,” “River of Deceit,” “State of Love and Trust,” and “Given to Fly.” Known for blending blues-inspired passion with soaring melodic solos, he’s long been recognized as one of modern rock’s most influential guitarists. Now he’s channeling that same creative energy into a project that blends music, storytelling, and stunning artwork
Mike McCready’s Farewell to Seasons will be available in a deluxe slip-cased oversized 12″ x 12″ edition alongside a standard 9″ x 9″ hardcover. Preorders for all editions are available now through Z2, with the standard edition also arriving later this year at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, independent bookstores, and comic shops worldwide
