Hulu has added two big names to its hit true-crime anthology’s second season. Patrick Schwarzenegger and Isabela Merced will join forces for Good American Family Season 2.
The upcoming season will focus on the infamous Virginia couple, John and Lorena Bobbitt (played by The White Lotus and Last of Us stars), who rocked the nation in 1993 with a disturbing story. Deadline reported the casting and also confirmed that 20th Television will continue producing the series. Created by Katie Robbins, the show will continue to be executive produced by her and Ellen Pompeo.
Released in 2025, Good American Family received mixed reviews, but has amassed over 140 million hours streamed globally. The first season of Good American Family told the story of the Ukrainian orphan Natalia Grace Barnett.
What to know about Hulu’s next chapter of Good American Family
The subject of the show’s upcoming season gained international infamy in the early 90s. The case follows Lorena cutting off her husband’s penis with a kitchen knife. The incident, according to her, was a result of being in an abusive marriage. John Bobbitt subsequently underwent surgery to reattach the severed organ.
The couple divorced in 1995, and have appeared together once in public since then. Lorena Bobbit’s story was previously retold in Danishka Esterhazy’s Canadian TV show Lorena Bobbitt, and again in Prime Video’s 2019 true-crime docuseries Lorena.

Merced has starred in several blockbusters, including Sicario: Day of the Soldado, Transformers: The Last Knight, Dora and the Lost City of Gold, Superman, and HBO’s The Last of Us. She will be next seen in 2027’s Man of Tomorrow, the sequel to Superman, as well as The Last of Us Season 3.
Good American Family Season 2 currently doesn’t have a release date yet.
