Nuke-Con brings families and gamers together at Mid

Gamers from across the country gather for Nuke-Con in Council Bluffs

Nuke-Con wrapped up its three-day tabletop gaming convention Sunday at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs, bringing together players from across the region and beyond.

The convention ran Oct. 2–4 and offered board and card games, roleplaying games, tournaments, vendor booths and opportunities to learn new games.

David Moore, a Nuke-Con board member, said many attendees come from the Omaha metro area, while others travel from across the region. Some even came from Pennsylvania and Georgia.

“So this is kind of a nationwide type event,” Moore said.

Nuke-Con is organized by volunteers and welcomes players of all ages and experience levels. Moore said organizers are already planning how to make next year’s convention bigger and better.
