Nocturne for Cyl-Hestia Sets Nintendo Switch Launch for September 24

    Author:News DeskCategory:News, Date: 29th August, 2026

French indie studio Spore and Sorcery has confirmed that its noir-tinged investigation adventure Nocturne for Cyl-Hestia will launch on Nintendo Switch on September 24, 2026, bringing the memory-hacking mystery to a fourth platform four months after its original debut. The game had already released in May on rival platforms before its confirmed arrival on Nintendo Switch on September 24, 2026. The Switch port was first reported by French outlet Nintendo-Master and corroborated by listings tracking the title’s rollout across storefronts.

Nocturne for Cyl-Hestia’s Switch Port Follows a May 27 Multiplatform Debut

Nocturne for Cyl-Hestia originally launched on May 27, 2026. The game was released on Steam on May 27, 2026, developed and priced at $19.99. The same day saw it arrive on other platforms too: it launched on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation, Steam and PC with Play Anywhere support, with UK pricing set at £16.74

The studio behind the game is a small, Lyon-based indie outfit. According to its own announcement distributedd publisher based in Lyon, France, that announced the release of Nocturne for Cyl-Hestia as a narrative adventure combining investigation and memory. The studio has described the project as the work of a young team of passionate indie developers

Playing Memorialist Silas in a City Ruled by the Cerulyn Flame

The game casts players as Silas, a “memorialist” who can record and relive other people’s memories. In a world blending retro-futuristic science fiction, film noir atmosphere and mysticism, players take on the role of Silas, a memorialist working for the independent newspaper The Voice. His investigative work is tied to Cyl-Hestia’s central mystery: the city-state is built around Cerulyn, a mysterious blue flame with exceptional properties, and Silas’s mission is to gather fragments of memories to reconstruct events obscured by the ruling regime and rekindle the flame of truth.

The narrative isn’t static. Every article Silas helps publish through The Voice ripples outward: every discovery fuels The Voice’s investigative work, and with every published article the world changes, as surveillance intensifies, tensions arise and people become aware of what is happening. The developer has also stressed that choices carry weight, noting each revelation encountered has consequences: surveillance increases, residents react, and the world evolves based on the player’s choices.

Memory Records, Mnemosyne Visions and a Sound-Hacking Puzzle System

Rather than relying on conventional detective-game logic, the adventure builds its investigations around collectible testimony. Players explore the districts of Cyl-Hestia and collect Memory Records, short testimonies entrusted by its inhabitants, which can be combined to reconstruct Remembrances and Mnemosyne Visions revealing events buried in the collective memory.

Environmental puzzles lean on a distinctive audio-based hacking mechanic. Interaction with the environment is achieved using a sound hacking system, where players can program punch cards to decipher encrypted records, unlock forgotten passages, and interact with ancient technological devices linked to the Flame. The Steam listing files the title under the Ashes of Prometheus franchise banner and tags it across investigation, dystopian, mystery and choice-driven adventure genres, reflecting its hybrid design that pairs slow-burn detective work with light puzzle-solving.

From the Forgotten Slums to the Sacred Spire

Cyl-Hestia’s geography doubles as a class allegory, with the story pushing Silas from the city’s poorest quarters toward the seat of power. The developer’s own marketing copy invites players to meet memorable characters, infiltrate the corridors of power, and explore the different levels of the city, from its forgotten slums to the sacred Spire tower. Coverage from Xbox-focused outlet TheXboxHub framed the tone bluntly, calling it a game where “the world of Cyl-Hestia is the sort of place where nobody tells the full truth,” built around a mysterious blue flame known as Cerulyn under a city-state controlled by authorities desperate to maintain power.

Critic reception is still forming: Metacritic currently lists Nocturne for Cyl-Hestia with no published review scores, meaning the Switch launch in late September could be the moment more outlets weigh in, particularly if the port introduces handheld-specific quality-of-life tweaks similar to the font-size and camera-follow options added in a prior PC patch. For Australian and New Zealand players, Nintendo has not yet detailed regional eShop pricing for the Switch version, but the game’s existing digital storefronts suggest a same-day release alongside the rest of the world is likely once the September 24 date locks in.
