TL;DR: Nintendo will raise the Switch 2 price on September 1 and offer two new bundles over $500: a $550 Mario Kart World bundle and a $530 <a href="https://comicvibe.com/the-witcher-3-remastered-confirms-free-nintendo-switch-2-upgrade-if-you-have-original-switch-1-game/" title="The Witcher 3 Remastered confirms free Nintendo Switch 2 upgrade if you have original Switch 1 game”>Nintendo Switch Sports Resort bundle, each including three months of the base Switch Online subscription; the hikes follow component cost increases and an earlier $450 launch price.

Nintendo is preparing to raise the Switch 2’s price tag on September 1 and has announced two new console bundles that retail for over $500.

Nintendo has announced two new Switch 2 bundles to coincide with the console’s incoming price hike. While these new packages are all over $500, matching up with the system’s base +$50 price increase to a $500 MSRP, the versions come with a game and 3 months of Switch Online subscription in tow.

The options include a Mario Kart World bundle for $550, and one Switch 2 bundle that comes with the Nintendo Switch Sports Resort game for $530. It’s important to note that the Switch Online subscription included in these offerings is just the base version, which includes multiplayer and access to earlier retro games–it isn’t the better Expansion Pack subscription with its Game Cube and Game Boy Advance games.

These new revised options are a result of Nintendo price-adjusting the Switch 2 following a launch at $450, a price point that was believed to be made in anticipation of then-unrevealed tariffs. Nintendo also made less profit per Switch 2 sale at this price.

Which bundle includes Nintendo Switch Sports Resort and what is its retail price?

Was there a previous Mario Kart World Tour Switch 2 bundle and how did its price compare to the new offering?

Does the article say the price increase is related to tariffs, component costs, or both?

The global tech shortages affected by AI have led to a universal price increase on key components required to make Switch 2 consoles, leading to the cost increase. Nintendo had previously offered a similar Mario Kart World Tour Switch 2 bundle for $499 and the company’s decision to throw in 3 months of Switch Online is a clear attempt at a remedy at this unwelcome price whiplash.
