Nintendo announces free repairs for those affected by Kumamoto earthquake, donating 50 million yen to Red Cross

Nintendo has announced a new initiative in which it will provide free repairs to those impacted by the recent Kumamoto earthquake. Additionally, the company will be making a donation to Red Cross.
The 6.8-magnitude earthquake, which happened last week, unfortunately caused deaths and plenty of destruction. Nintendo is doing its small part with repairs. This will be available for free until February 1, 2027 for individuals in the areas designated under the Disaster Relief Act in connection with the Kumamoto earthquake. Even products not under warranty can be repaired.
As for the donation, it will give 50 million yen to the Japanese Red Cross.
We extend our deepest sympathies to all those affected by the 2026 Kumamoto Earthquake and pray for a swift recovery.
Regarding Nintendo products owned by customers affected by the recent earthquake, we will provide repair services as follows.
Target customers
Individual customers residing in areas where the Disaster Relief Act was applied due to the 2026 Kumamoto Earthquake.For the latest information on areas where the Disaster Relief Act applies, please visit the Cabinet Office website.

Damaged and repairable Nintendo productsDepending on the condition of the product, repair may be difficult. We appreciate your understanding. We will handle the repair in accordance with our repair service regulations.

From Tuesday, July 28, 2026 to Monday, February 1, 2027 *Up to those arriving at the Nintendo Service Center
Repair costs
As a general rule, we will provide service free of charge, regardless of whether or not there is a warranty.
