“Love Island USA” season eight continued its successful summer run on Peacock as the series generated another 1.94 billion minutes to rank as the No. 1 streamed content across U.S. households through July 5, according to new data from Nielsen.

The reality dating show, which generated 1.97 billion minutes in the previous week, returned to Nielsen’s top spot for the third time this season, and the fourth time ever.

The new season represented about 94% of the show’s viewing total this week, upping its overall total to 8.7 billion minutes across the entire catalog of episodes since the season’s premiere on June 2. That’s up 1.8 billion minutes (26%) compared to the equivalent timeframe in 2025. A key driver of its audience has been women 18-34, which accounted for 40% of total viewership.

Three Netflix titles made the billion-minute club for the week. The limited original series “I Will Find You” added 1.1 billion minutes and shifted to No. 2 overall and among originals. Despite having just eight episodes, the Sam Worthington-starrer has accumulated more than 1 billion minutes in each of its three weeks of availability.

“Avatar: The Last Airbender” saw 1.09 billion minutes, and moved up one spot to No. 3 overall and No. 3 on the originals chart. Rounding out the group was newcomer “Worst Neighbor Ever” (1.03 billion minutes, No. 4), which premiered on July 1 and joins “Worst Roommate Ever” and “Worst Ex Ever” in Netflix’s stable of Blumhouse true crime docuseries. Adults 35-49 were the core audience for the new show, accounting for more than a third (37%) of watch time.

The Paramount+ original series “Dutton Ranch” wrapped its first season and captured 827 million minutes over its nine episodes. The Taylor Sheridan show has charted in the top 10 each week since its two-episode series premiere (eight total intervals), driving more than 6 billion total viewing minutes on Paramount+ in that time.

The Prime Video original series “Elle” debuted on the Top 10 Originals chart for the week at No. 7 with 499 billion minutes. The “Legally Blonde” prequel series premiered on July 1 with all eight episodes releasing at once. Viewership was driven by women 18+, which contributed two-thirds (67%) of watch time.

While the top three acquired titles remained unchanged from the previous week, their viewing totals were more balanced. “The Last Ship” stayed anchored at No. 1 on the acquired chart with 942 million minutes on Netflix. “Bluey” fetched another 916 million minutes on Disney+ to hold on to No. 2. “House of the Dragon” maintained No. 3 with 912 million viewing minutes on HBO Max, driven by the fewest number of episodes (21) among titles in the week’s acquired top 10 list.

After a successful spring box office run, the sci-fi drama Project Hail Mary debuted No. 1 on the movies chart after launching on Prime Video July 3. With 860 million minutes viewed in its first three days, the film’s viewership was well-balanced among adults under 50 (46%) and over 50 (46%), and it drew a strong Asian audience as well (10%).

It joined The Sheep Detectives (564 million minutes), which moved up one position for the week to No. 2, giving Prime Video the top two movies.

Netflix had two new original movies debut on the film chart with Enola Holmes 3 (505 million minutes, No. 3) and Little Brother (451 million minutes, No. 4).

Finally, in what has become somewhat of a yearly tradition, the 1996 sci-fi thriller Independence Day (331 million minutes, No. 3 among movies) made its annual top 10 appearance for the July 4th holiday. This is the third consecutive year it has charted, and its highest top 10 viewing total to date.
