BuzzBallz has released two limited-edition cocktails inspired by Pop-Tarts Frosted S’mores and Frosted Brown Sugar Cinnamon, a Sazerac Company spokesperson said in an email to the Daily Voice on Thursday, Aug. 20. Both drinks contain 15% alcohol by volume.
The collaboration puts a different spin on “flavors that have been part of American pop culture for generations.”
“Created specifically with millennial fans in mind, the limited-edition collaboration taps into the nostalgia of enjoying Pop-Tarts growing up in the 90s and reimagines two iconic flavors,” the spokesperson said.
The Frosted Brown Sugar Cinnamon drink is inspired by the pastry’s cinnamon-and-brown-sugar flavor, while Frosted S’mores combines chocolate, marshmallow, and graham cracker flavors. The cocktails use a wine-and-spirit blend designed to comply with varying state liquor laws, Delishably reported.
The round containers feature blue Pop-Tarts branding similar to the pastry’s boxes. The drinks are rolling out at retailers nationwide and have a suggested retail price of $3.99.
Some commenters on the Instagram account Candy Hunting were concerned about how the BuzzBallz could appeal to people younger than 21.
“Just hand them out to the kids why don’t ya since you’re marketing to them anyways 🤦,” one user commented.
“You cant have candy like flavors of tobacco because marketing to children but we can have this? 😂” another person wrote.
Others said they were willing to try the cocktails.
“As a lover of S’mores Pop Tarts since the very beginning I will take one for the team here and try it,” one commenter said.
“This sounds perfect for the holiday season, adding this to some hot cocoa or some coffee,” another person commented.
Dallas-area high school teacher Merrilee Kick created BuzzBallz in 2009, and Sazerac acquired the brand in 2024.
