In 2023, Netflix made a move that no other streaming service was really doing at the time – releasing a list of its most-watched films and TV series every six months.
The ‘What We Watched’ report kicked off with the first half of 2023 in a report spanning 18,000 titles and nearly 100 billion hours viewed across the service. “The Night Agent” topped that first list, with the live-action “One Piece” topping the list for the second half of the year.
In 2024 it was the Harlan Coben mini-series “Fool Me Once” and the second season of smash hit “Squid Game”, while in 2025 it was “Adolescence” and the return of “Wednesday”.
Last week though, Netflix announced it will stop publishing the report and will replace it with yearly insights. The streamer’s report for the first half of 2026 will be its last six-month update and will arrive later this year.
As a result, Deadline has revealed its own list of four years worth of viewing figures from the streamer for what’s dubbed an “official ranking” of the most-watched shows on Netflix in the past four years. The list is as follows.

2. “Adolescence’: 171.6 million views
3. “Squid Game” – Season 3: 155.8 million views
4. “Bridgerton” – Season 3: 154.2 million views
5. “Stranger Things” – Season 5: 149.1 million views
6. “Fool Me Once’: 138.3 million views
7. “Ms. Rachel” – Season 1: 137.5 million views
8. “Wednesday” – Season 2: 133.1 million views
9. “Stranger Things” – Season 1: 127.5 million views
10. “Peppa Pig” – Season 6: 127.4 million views
11. “One Piece” – Season 1: 125.6 million views
12. “Wednesday” – Season 1: 124.5 million views
13. “The Gentlemen” – Season 1: 105.8 million views
14. “Young Sheldon”: 104.2 million views
15. “His & Hers”: 104 million views

17. “La Palma”: 102.3 million views
