It’s been less than a month and a half since more than a dozen former Pennsylvania State University students and a Pittsburgh attorney were charged in connection with a suspected drug trafficking ring operating out of two fraternities, but already, Netflix is developing a series inspired by the allegations.
The series is in its early stages, with no name and few details available it has two executive producers, as well as a writer and cast member

Netflix developing series inspired by Penn State’s alleged cocaine ring
Netflix is developing a series inspired by the drug trafficking ring police say operated out of fraternity houses at Pennsylvania State University, Variety reported.
The series was untitled as of Sept. 30 but is slated to be a comedy focusing on a drug ring run by a college fraternity.
Who will star in, produce Netflix series based on Penn State cocaine ring?
The series is set to star Charlie Hall, who has appeared in shows such as “Veep,” “The Sex Lives of College Girls” and “Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed,” with a future appearance set for season 4 of HBO’s “The White Lotus.” Hall will also write the untitled project
The outlet also reported that Alec Berg will serve as the executive producer and supervising writer under an overall deal he signed with Netflix in 2026. Berg worked as a producer and writer on “Barry,” which he co-created with actor Bill Hader, as well as shows such as “Silicon Valley,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and “Seinfeld.”
Amy Solomon, who worked with Berg on “Barry” and “Silicon Valley,” will also serve as executive producer under Berg’s production banner, Variety reported.
Students, attorney charged in Penn State cocaine ring
Cocaine trafficking among Penn State students took place in 2023 and 2024 and involved cutting and packaging the drugs primarily at the Delta Upsilon and Sigma Chi fraternity houses, said Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday.
None of the students were enrolled at the school as of Aug. 17, 2026, he said.
Sunday alleged that Agostino Abbatiello and Thomas Robinson were the main suppliers of cocaine and made regular trips to Philadelphia and New York to pick up the drugs.
The two, alongside Mohammed Hurabi and Lars Zeepvat, were charged with felony corrupt organizations, conspiracy, dealing in proceeds of unlawful activity and related offenses. Robert Zanolla was charged with felony conspiracy and criminal use of a communication facility, as well as related misdemeanors. Eight other students were charged with misdemeanor counts of possession and paraphernalia.
Thomas Robinson’s father, Paul Robinson, a Pittsburgh attorney, was the only non-student to face charges, with Sunday saying the father took steps to conceal evidence. The attorney was charged with felony tampering, hindering apprehension for taking steps to conceal evidence and obstructing the investigation.
