- The NASCAR Cup Series is approaching the halfway point of its 10-race championship Chase.
- The Cup Series race, the South Point 400, is scheduled for Sunday evening in Las Vegas.
Well, that didn’t take long, did it?
After Sunday’s race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, we’ll be halfway through the 10-race Chase for this year’s Cup Series championship. A month from now, there’ll be nothing left but the Nov. 8 season finale, which has been moved this year back to its former home, Homestead-Miami.
The O’Reilly Series, meanwhile, will be running the fourth race of its nine-race Chase this weekend at Vegas. And the Trucks, which are off this week, return next week for the third race of the series’ seven-race postseason.
Completely wrapping up its 2026 season this weekend will be NASCAR’s sports-car division, IMSA. The 10-hour season finale, the Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta, begins turning a whole lot of laps Saturday at noon.
