Pankaj Tripathi delivers pure entertainment in this blockbuster crime thriller

Early estimates suggest‘Mirzapur The Movie’will easily conquer the Rs 100 crore mark over its opening weekend, proving itself as a true paisa vasool entertainer. Crossing Rs 200 crore lifetime seems entirely achievable given the intense audience enthusiasm roaring through theatres today. This ambitious project successfully transitions India’s most popular streaming franchise into a full-blown cinematic spectacle, testing whether loyal OTT audiences will buy box office tickets for their favourite digital gangsters. The gamble is clearly paying off. Pankaj Tripathi returns to form as Kaleen Bhaiyya, desperately searching for immediate campaign funds for corrupt politician J.P. Yadav.

Gurmmeet Singh directs the intense drama where Bablu Pandit secures a highly lucrative tip regarding seven truckloads of drugs. Rajasthan-based businessman Babban Yadav controls this illicit cargo, though his true motive involves assassinating Mirzapur’s reigning king. Clocking in at slightly over three hours, the runtime flies by due to sharp dialogue and intense face-offs, carefully keeping the show’s established continuity completely intact without contradicting future seasons.

Ali Fazal delivers his most striking action performance yet as Guddu Pandit, balancing perfectly against Divyenndu’s aggressive portrayal of Munna. Pankaj Tripathi continues to command absolute authority, demanding silence in every frame. Jitendra Kumar steps confidently into Vikrant Massey’s shoes, maintaining the distinct, calculated personality of Bablu. Some post-interval romantic stretches feel slightly drawn out, and knowing the ultimate fate of these season one characters reduces the shock value of certain near-death scenes. However, Ravi Kishan’s phenomenal cameo and the roaring theatrical finale easily compensate for these minor pacing issues, delivering the exact chaotic energy fans crave.
