Still from the teaser:
The Minami-ke Special Event 2026 confirmed the return of the franchise with Minami-ke: Korekara, the fifth television anime in the series, on Sunday, November 8. A teaser promotional video, a teaser visual, and character visuals were shown at the event. The fifth season will premiere in Japan in April 2027.
LIDEN FILMS will be producing this season, with Jun’ichi Kitamura directing, Takamitsu Kono on series composition, and Nobuhiro Ando on character design. Rina Sato, who famously voiced Makoto Niijima in PERSONA 5 the Animation, returns as Haruka Minami. Marina Inoue (Armin Arlelt in Attack on Titan) and Minori Chihara (Kaori Nakaseko in Sound Euphonium) return as the other two Minami sisters, Kana and Chiaki, respectively. The supporting cast is carried over from earlier seasons and is listed below.
Minami-ke season 5 returns after 14 years of absence with former cast
The teaser PV began in the Minami family’s apartment with Haruka’s line, translated as “Dinner will be ready soon,” then moved through Kana and Chiaki’s quarrels, the sisters’ school friends, and the other Minami household members before ending on the April 2027 date. The teaser visual shows the three sisters jumping in the same direction, with Chiaki in front and Haruka at the back.
The staff includes Yasunori Ebina returning as sound director, alongside Naoto Yamaya on sound effects, Yasuhiro Misawa on music, Masaru Satō and Midori Kikuchi as art directors, Saki Kurata as color key artist, and Yuki Tsuchimoto as the compositing director of photography.
Toma is voiced by Nana Mizuki (Hinata Hyuga in Naruto), while Tetsuya Kakihara (Natsu Dragneel in Fairy Tail) voices Fujioka, and Daisuke Ono (Jotaro Kujo in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure) voices Hosaka. The supporting cast is as follows:
-
Tatsuya Hayama as Akira Minami
-
Hiroyuki Yoshino as Natsuki Minami
Minami-ke: Korekara is the first installment in 14 years since Minami-ke Tadaima aired in 2013. Kodansha published the manga’s 29th compiled volume on Friday, November 6, two days before the event. Each of the four previous television seasons ran for 13 episodes, so a single cour should cover only part of the material added since season 4 finished airing. No episode count, broadcaster, or streaming platform was disclosed.
