BRZRKR is a comic book series co-created and co-written by Keanu Reeves and Matt Kindt, with art primarily by Ron Garney, originally ublished by Boom Studios in 2021 after a highly successful Kickstarter campaign that raised over $1.4 million. The first issue became one of the better-selling comic debuts, around 600,000 to 650,000 copies. The story centers on an immortal warrior known only as B, half-human and half-god, cursed with superhuman strength, speed, near-instant regeneration, and an uncontrollable compulsion toward extreme violence that has driven him for roughly 80,000 years. Born in prehistoric times after his human mother prayed to a cosmic entity for a protector for her tribe, B has fought through countless eras as a near-unstoppable force of carnage, often at the cost of his own sanity.
In the present day, B works as a black-ops asset for the U.S. government, handling missions too brutal or dangerous for ordinary soldiers. In exchange, scientists study him and promise to uncover the secrets of his origins, and grant him the one thing he truly wants: the ability to die. And Boom Studios have found that the comic boiok series is as immortal as the charcater, with more and more spin off series.
Netflix also acquired rights early on for a live-action feature film with Reeves starring as B and producing, and a follow-up anime series, also involving Reeves voicing the character. Mattson Tomlin of The Batman Part II has written the film script and is involved with the anime. In March 2025, Justin Lin was announced as director and producer for the live-action movie.
