Microsoft is encouraging Xbox owners who no longer use their consoles to trade them in at Best Buy.
In an email sent to some Xbox owners and spotted by Power Up, Microsoft writes: “Haven’t played on your console in a while? If you’ve moved on to Xbox on PC or another way to play Xbox games, it may be time to trade in your console to Best Buy.” The email explains that console owners could get up to $200 for a used Xbox Series S and up to $375 for a used Xbox Series X.
Microsoft announced in June that they will sell used consoles at lower prices through retail partners. This targeted trade-in campaign seems to help the company obtain used stock it can then refurbish and resell. If so, we’d be curious about the used consoles’ retail prices.
The emails arrive ahead of GTA 6’s scheduled November 19 launch on <a href="https://comicvibe.com/a-fan-remake-of-digimon-world-for-playstation-1-is-on-its-way/” title=”A Fan Remake of Digimon World For PlayStation 1 Is On Its Way”>PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Maybe this is Xbox’s push to divert consoles to players who want to play the game but can’t afford a brand new X|S, given how expensive consoles have become thanks to RAMageddon. A new Series S currently starts at $499, and the Series X starts at $749.
If you take your Xbox to Best Buy, keep in mind you’ll trade it in for store credit, not cash.
