MIAMI, Fla. (CBS12) —Miami has a new addition to its skyline — a giant pink “Welcome to Vice City” sign on top of the Kaseya Center.
The sign was installed Tuesday, with a helicopter lifting the letters into place one by one, according to video from WPLG.
The sign is part of a deal between Miami-Dade County and Rockstar Games, the developer behind the Grand Theft Auto video game series.
The agreement is meant to capitalize on Miami’s connection to the fictional Vice City, the Miami-inspired setting of the upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI.
County officials say the deal will bring in nearly $1 million in revenue and create additional marketing opportunities.
The sign comes as anticipation builds for GTA VI, which is scheduled to be released Nov. 19, 2026, for <a href="https://comicvibe.com/playstation-plus-quietly-drops-rust-freebie-and-its-one-of-the-best-survival-games-you-can-play/” title=”PlayStation Plus quietly drops Rust freebie, and it's one of the best survival games you can play”>PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series XS.
The game will return players to Vice City, this time within the fictional state of Leonida.
So for now, Miami has a giant pink reminder that the game’s release is getting closer.
