Meta has revealed two AI-powered game tools that let players develop 2D and 3D games using prompts on mobile devices and browsers.
Announced during its Meta Connect conference this week, Horizon Create and Horizon Studio are “built on the agentic creation capabilities of the Meta Horizon Engine.”
Horizon Create is designed for mobile, while Horizon Studio is intended for browsers. Both platforms share a “common backend”, allowing assets, systems, and iteration history to transfer between them.
“Traditional game development demands months of work, expensive hardware, and specialised skills,” said Meta.
“Horizon Create and Horizon Studio remove these barriers: they make it easier to turn your ideas into playable 2D and 3D games, and they enable you to distribute them automatically across several Meta platforms when you publish.”
To create games with these tools, users provide text prompts describing their desired game. The Meta Horizon Engine then generates a playable game, which can be published directly to Facebook and Instagram.
According to MobileGamer.biz, selected creators are currently testing the apps with financial support from the Meta Horizon Creator Fund. Early access will be rolled out gradually, with additional details on in-game monetisation to follow.
Earlier this year, Roblox introduced an agentic AI feature in Roblox Studio that can convert text prompts into game design documents, which the tool can then implement and test.
Meta also <a href="https://about.fb.com/news/2026/09/introducing-meta-vr-glasses-3d-movies-immersive-live-sports-100-grams/” rel=”nofollow noopener” target=”_blank”>unveiled VR Glasses at its Meta Connect event, which will haveUnity support from day one.
Meta’s VR Glasses are five times lighter than the Meta Quest 3 and do not include straps or heavy hardware, and feature a 5K infinite display built on micro-OLED panels.
VR Glasses are supported by Unity 6.6 through OpenXR, allowing existing Quest projects to be transferred to the new device. Tools such as the XR Interaction (XRI) Toolkit, XR Hands, and XRI Simulator can be used to design, build, and test games.
Studios including Animal Repair Shop, Schell Games, Amata K.K., Nerd Ninjas, Within, Soul Assembly, Marvelous Inc., and Grounding Inc. are already building titles for VR Glasses with Unity.
Meta’s VR Glasses will launch in Spring 2027 and retail at $1,299.99.
