Rideon Japan is making Mercenaries Grace: Black Feather and the Golden Right Arm for Nintendo Switch, the company has announced. The title is targeting a 2027 launch.

Similar to other Mercenaries Saga games, Mercenaries Grace: Black Feather and the Golden Right Arm is a strategy RPG. This time around, battles feature a chess-like system. There’ll be back and forth moves with player and enemy units moving one at a time.

The Kingdom of Grauxes has suffered for many years of tyranny and heavy taxes by acting King O’Neil. The people were overjoyed that his sudden death would bring the crown of the bereaved child of the king he had been waiting for. Meanwhile, however, a “forbidden tower” in the northern part of the kingdom is attacked by a small unit.

The young mercenary Swan and his friends who are active as the right-hander of Gersh, a mercenary with an iron prosthetic hand, and his friends, “Iron-armed mercenaries.” They rescued them from the Forbidden Tower by the beautiful female general Berta. She was the real sister of King O’Neil.

Mercenary’s Grace is a tactical simulation RPG set in a fantasy world. The battle is carried out on a quota view map with a height difference, and the battle results that change in front, back, and lateral direction, and it is characterized by high strategy such as the support effect by the standing position of the ally character. You can enjoy the development of characters with a high degree of freedom, such as acquiring skills, strengthening, and changing classes using the skill points you gained in battle.

Until now, the Mercenaries Saga series has been progressing in a complete turn system where all the characters on the player side have acted, and the enemy side has all acted, but in this game this system has changed significantly! The characters on the player side and the enemy side are one-handed changeovers that act one by one, like shogi and chess. You can enjoy the battle more deeply by knowing who to act from and from whom the enemy will act.

In the past, one character divided from one initial job (class) into two intermediate jobs and had a total of seven classes: senior/special-class. In this work, it is a system called “Ladder Class”, which is a class of eight classes that goes beyond the framework of warriors / bandits / priests / magicians. The eight classes are beginner, intermediate, advanced, and special, and you can transfer to the classes next to you in addition to the direct classes. How to grow the character while class up is up, and the decision is up to the player!

The gauge in the upper right corner of the screen accumulates due to the battle attack and defense, and you can use the special attack “Soul Exceed” by consuming the power you have stocked. It is a special attack with different characteristics for each ladder class, such as dealing with huge damage to enemies and recovering the HP and state abnormality of all allies. The use of special skills holds the key to victory!
