Maura Higgins opened up about her “lowest” week on Dancing with the Stars.
On Monday, Nov. 2, the Love Island alum shocked fans when she and her professional dance partner, Mark Mallas, scored last during Disney Night despite their impressive season run. The two scored a 32 out of 40 for their jive to Peter Pan’s “You Can Fly! You Can Fly! You Can Fly!”
Luckily for Higgins and Ballas, they lived to see another day in the competition with Ezra Sosa and Julia Stiles being eliminated at the end of the night. Nevertheless, the television personality is looking back on “making mistakes.”
Taking to Instagram after the show, Higgins wrote, “This week was definitely one of the toughest I’ve had so far. I was really unwell, running on very little energy and trying to learn two dances, but I gave it absolutely everything I had.
“I came into this experience knowing I wasn’t a dancer, a performer or an athlete, but I wanted to challenge myself, step outside my comfort zone and give something completely new my absolute best & that’s exactly what I’m trying to do every single week,” she continued. “I’m learning, I’m making mistakes, I’m pushing myself and I’m growing along the way!!”

The reality star gave herself grace, saying she’s “only human” and is just proud of herself for trying.
Higgins went on to thank her “incredible partner” for being her “biggest support throughout this journey.
“His patience, encouragement and belief in me, especially during such a difficult week, mean more than he knows,” she said of Ballas. “I genuinely couldn’t have asked for a better person to share this experience with.”
The reality star plans to get back in the studio for Ballas and her fans who “give me the strength to keep going.”
She concluded, “Here’s to coming back stronger.”
