Marvel Television has announced a new TV show,Zodiac, coming to Disney+. Though plot details are scarce, fans know it will release in 2028, the year after Avengers: Secret Wars. Marvel hasn’t shared any other details, but the logo revealed at New York Comic Con may give fans a sense of what to expect.
A Variety report says Zodiac will be a live-action spy thriller. Speaking at NYCC, Marvel Television chief Brad Winderbaum said that casting will start in the “next couple of weeks.” The series will begin filming next year, but details about the creative team remain unrevealed.
Here’s what we know about Marvel’s mysterious new project
Based on the new logo, fans have deduced that Zodiac will involve SHIELD, the secretive organization formerly led by Nick Fury. In the Marvel comics, Zodiac refers to multiple characters and groups. One version refers to the Zodiac cartel, a criminal organization that sought economic and political domination of the world. At another point, a mysterious villain called themselves Zodiac during the Dark Reign storyline.
If Zodiac, as the logo suggests, deals with SHIELD, then it marks Marvel’s second show directly exploring the organization. Following 2012’s The Avengers, Marvel released Agents of SHIELD, which ran for seven seasons.
Marvel is familiar with the spy-thriller subgenre, though its last attempt at a similar tone, Secret Invasion, was a critical failure. Although the show didn’t work out, Samuel L. Jackson recently confirmed he will return to the MCU in Avengers: Secret Wars.
Marvel Television’s Zodiac releases on Disney+ in 2028. The next Marvel project, VisionQuest, releases on Disney+ on October 14, 2026.
