It’s been well over a decade since Disney acquired Lucasfilm Ltd. And while they wasted no time in taking advantage of the Star Wars franchise on the publishing side, they’ve been strangely reticent to focus on Indiana Jones. Even when Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny hit theaters in 2023, there was no new Indiana Jones comic to be had. But there’s finally some good news on that front, as Marvel has revealed a new Indiana Jones comic launching in December 2026.

The news broke during the Lucasfilm Publishing panel at SDCC 2026. The new series in question is called Indiana Jones and the Sword of Pandemonium. This five-issue limited series is a direct follow-up to the original Raiders of the Lost Ark movie.

Indiana Jones and the Sword of Pandemonium is who previously helmed Marvel’s 2015 Star Wars series. The book is illustrated by Aaron Kuder (Daredevil), and the first issue features cover art by Kuder, Bryan Hitch, and Alex Ross

Here’s the official description for Indiana Jones and the Sword of Pandemonium #1:

In the wake of Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indy’s most notorious villains, including the impossible return of an archenemy, seek a terrifying new source of power to recoup their loss—one that’s fallen into the hands of his former companion, Marion Ravenwood. Now, Indiana Jones has to race to the far corners of the globe in search of a biblical weapon, embarking on an epic quest that will put both his archeology skills and skepticism of the supernatural to the ultimate test!

This new series looks to be the first step in Marvel’s larger plans for the Indy franchise, with the solicitation teasing that the book is “Kicking off a new era of Marvel Comics Indiana Jones Storytelling.”

What new Indy adventures do you want to see from Marvel? Let us know in the comments.

Check out IGN’s SDCC hub page for more coverage from the convention, including a first look at Hasbro’s Legend of Zelda figures and early details on the new Maximum X-Men comic.
