Marvel Studios had some <a href="https://www.mensjournal.com/entertainment/disney-gives-comic-con-malaga-fans-exclusive-look-at-6-major-upcoming-releases” rel=”nofollow noopener” target=”_blank”>new exciting projects to announce during their New York Comic Con 2026 panel. Multiple new Marvel projects are coming to Disney+ in 2028, including a new season of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and more Marvel Zombies. But a new live-action project announcement from the studio is getting a lot of attention.
The new series is called Zodiac. Details about the story, and which characters will appear in it, have not yet been revealed. But with a focus on spies, some fans believe it may involve the secret organiation, SHIELD. The series announcement was shared on theofficial Marvel Studios X account after the reveal during their New York Comic Con panel.
During the panel reveal, Marvel Television’s Brad Winderbaum said that the show will be a spy thriller, and that casting for it will begin soon. However, he also teased Marvel fans that the Zodiac logo shown during the panel had a few hidden secrets that fans of the comics will pick up on. He also mentioned that the show will start shooting in Spring 2028.
Within the universe of Marvel Comics, Zodiac is a name that has been used for multiple teams of characters that have teamed up. One version of the team contained human characters that clashed with The Avengers on occasion, while another version of Zodiac included an android that teamed up with the West Coast Avengers. Other versions of Zodiac have included a variety of Marvel characters, including one that had Thanos after he was resurrected.
Who and what exactly the Disney+ show will focus on is still shrouded in mystery for the time being. Zodiac will be part of Phase 7 for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and so far is the only new live-action project announced for it.
Whether the characters that appear in Zodiac will crossover with any other Marvel TV shows is also unknown, despite other series getting new seasons. Marvel fans will have to patiently wait for the studio to talk more about Zodiac in the coming year.
