A man was arrested on Oct. 23, after allegedly brandishing a knife on the Brooklyn set of Michael B. Jordan and Austin Butler‘s new film, Miami Vice ’85.
An NYPD spokesperson told Entertainment Weekly that 23-year-old Alex Perez of Brooklyn was arrested at 11:15 p.m. near Avenue N and McDonald Avenue on Friday, after a 42-year-old man reported having a “verbal dispute with an individual who then displayed a knife, causing him to become fearful for his safety.”
Perez was subsequently taken into custody without incident and the knife was recovered with no reported injuries, per authorities. He has since been charged with menacing and criminal possession of a weapon.

Representatives for Universal did not immediately respond to EW’s request for comment.
In footage of the alleged incident a man identified as Perez can be seen reportedly being removed from set before he pulls out a large butcher knife from his hoodie pocket. A NYPD officer then intervenes, arrests the man, and takes the knife from his possession
The 23-year-old has previously been arrested five times in connection with alleged offenses that include gang-related activities, assault with a firearm, and burglary, per the outlet.
Miami Vice ’85began filming in both New Jersey and New York City earlier this month. Since then, both Butler, 35, and Jordan, 39, have been spotted filming in multiple locations.
