Lucasfilm’s latest animated project, Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi, <a href="https://comicvibe.com/my-hero-academia-officially-returns-to-crunchyroll-with-final-timeskip-anime/” title=”My Hero Academia Officially Returns to Crunchyroll With Final Timeskip Anime”>officially premieres on Disney+ and Hulu this Wednesday, August 5, 2026.
Expanding the Vision
Directed by Kenji Kamiyama (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex), the full series picks up after the events of the original 2021 short. The story follows Lah Kara as she navigates a far-future galaxy where Jedi are mythic relics and kyber crystals dynamically reflect their wielder’s spiritual alignment, fighting to reunite with her father, the master sabersmith Lah Zhima and help restore the Jedi order.
The limited series picks up not long after the events of the “Visions” shorts: “The Ninth Jedi” and “The Ninth Jedi: Child of Hope.” In the new series, Lah Kara continues to train in the ways of the Jedi under Margrave Juro. Kara goes on an epic journey of
self-discovery as she and Juro’s small fellowship of Jedi-in-training embark on a quest to save her father.-Official synopsis for The Ninth Jedi

Elevating The Ninth Jedi from an anthology short into a full 8-episode narrative series is one of Lucasfilm’s most exciting creative expansions. By jumping into a distant, autonomous era detached from the mainline Skywalker saga, the series offers a fresh, high-fantasy vision of lightsaber lore and Force traditions.
All eight episodes of Lucasfilm’s first anime series will be available on August 5th.
