Pop culture gift and collectibles company, Fanattik, based in Goostrey welcomed Sarah Russell MP to its headquarters for a discussion focused on workplace culture and parental leave.
During her visit, Sarah met members of the Fanattik team to hear first-hand how the business supports staff across different stages of family life.
The conversation covered flexible working, childcare pressures and the importance of creating a workplace where parents and carers can thrive as well as discussing the opportunities and challenges facing ambitious SMEs, such as the barriers that can make it harder for businesses to invest, grow and create jobs.
Fanattik was founded by Anthony and Louise Marks in 2007 and produces officially licensed gifts and collectibles for some of the biggest names in film, TV and gaming.
The company supplies retailers across the UK and internationally and has grown significantly in recent years thanks to demand from collectors and fans.
Despite its global reach, Fanattik remains a proud local employer, with a team drawn from Holmes Chapel, Crewe, Sandbach and the surrounding area.
Chief executive officer, Anthony Marks, said the visit was a welcome opportunity to highlight the realities faced by working families in the region, as well as the wider challenges facing growing businesses.
“Fanattik has grown because of the people behind it. Several of our team are parents and we’ve always tried to build a workplace that understands real life.

“It was good to speak with Sarah about what families are dealing with day to day, and how businesses like ours can be supported to do even more.
“We also discussed the role SMEs play in creating jobs and driving economic growth, and some of the barriers that growing businesses face as they look to invest in people and expand.”
Sarah said: “It was an honour to be invited to see behind-the-scenes of this fast-growing local business. I was fascinated to learn about the growing ‘kidult’ market and their work on so many popular franchises that nurture communities through shared nostalgia and passion.
“It was also great to hear about the company’s commitment to flexible working. As the Chair for APPG for Flexible and Family Friendly Working, I’ve seen how vital this is for many people, and Fanattik is a fantastic example of how flexible working can work for businesses. I look forward to seeing them continue to grow and expand on this impressive work.”
Sarah also toured the Fanattik office and warehouse, meeting designers and production staff who create the company’s licensed ranges for brands including Universal, Paramount, Bethesda, Sega and many others.
