Music Festival Tycoon, a new Roblox experience from Live Nation and Livewire where players build and grow their own music festivals, has already attracted more than 3.5 million visits and generated more than 23 million in-game performances.
Inspired by the more than 200 festivals Live Nation produces around the world, Music Festival Tycoon lets players book artists, build stages and create their own festivals. The experience launches its first featured artist collaboration with CORTIS and welcomes Lollapalooza as its first real-world festival.
Roblox is where millions of fans already create, play and connect around the things they love. Music Festival Tycoon brings festivals into that community, giving artists, festivals and partners new ways to deepen fan participation on Roblox.
Music Festival Tycoon also opens new opportunities for brands to extend their real-world festival sponsorships into Roblox through sponsored stages, custom activations, creator collaborations and virtual merchandise, creating connected experiences for fans that span live events and Roblox.
CORTIS will become the first artist to headline Music Festival Tycoon. Fans can watch virtual performances, unlock exclusive avatars inspired by each member and create their own festivals featuring a dedicated CORTIS stage. Launching alongside the group’s U.S. festival debut at Lollapalooza, Music Festival Tycoon gives fans a new way to celebrate CORTIS on Roblox.
As part of the experience, Lollapalooza will become the first real-world festival to join Music Festival Tycoon. Players can build festivals with recognizable Lollapalooza elements, including the festival’s main stage, the iconic lollipop mascot, a Chicago-style hot dog vendor and an official merchandise stand.
“Festivals have always been shaped by the fans who attend them,” said Anubhav Mehrotra, Head of Product, Data and Fan Engagement at Live Nation Media & Sponsorship. “Music Festival Tycoon brings that same creativity to Roblox, where fans can build, personalize and share festival experiences of their own.”
“Roblox users aren’t just virtual fans – our data with GWI1shows they significantly overindex for live event attendance,” said Jessica Meehan, Head of Music Partnerships at Roblox. “We hope Music Festival Tycoon can serve as a year-round destination where fans can connect, celebrate, and fuel their love for the live music experience both during and outside of festival season.”
“Gaming is no longer a side channel for music. It is where culture is built. Live Nation brings the festival expertise and Roblox brings the audience. We designed the connection through an experience built for how this generation actually engages with artists and one another,” said Livewire Co-Founder and Co-CEO Indy Khabra.
Music Festival Tycoon is available now on Roblox.
