Lake Mary softball wraps up its run at the 2026 Little League Softball World Series in the third-place game today against Toms River, New Jersey.
Lake Mary’s baseball team won it all in 2024, but lost in the Southeast regional title game in 2025 before falling to Chaires-Capitola in this year’s Florida state tournament. Their softball counterparts have picked up the mantle, reaching last year’s LLSWS before playing all the way to the final day this year.
The Florida girls opened with two wins by a resounding 29-0 score before losing to North Carolina. A 5-0 win in an elimination game earned them a rematch, but North Carolina bested them again 4-0 in the semifinals. They’ll play Owensboro, Kentucky in the championship later today.
Florida will face a New Jersey team that’s seen a remarkable turnaround since losing its opening game to Japan. With star Jaelyn Brown leading the way, Toms River won its three elimination games by a combined score of 28-3 before a 2-1 semifinal loss vs. Kentucky.
