Multidisciplinary narrative artist Dan Goldmancontinues to expand his Kinjin Storylab with a new line of affordable full color editions andThe Beat has the details on it.

Kinjin Storylab is expanding the reach of creator-owned comics with the launch of its new Mangita line! Coined by the cross-cultural comics lab as a Japanese-Spanish term meaning “beloved little comics,” Mangitas are compact full-color editions designed to deliver complete, satisfying chapters of story at an affordable price. Built for curious readers, Mangitas offers an all-new way to step into creator-owned worlds—where the strange feels human and every moment (in both this life and the afterlife) leaves a mark.

Each Mangita is thoughtfully redesigned with brand-new wraparound covers while preserving the immersive world that earned Dan Goldman’s Unfinished Business hardcover a 2026 Eisner Award nomination for Best Publication Design.

“We are immensely proud of our Eisner-nominated Red Light Properties: Unfinished Business hardcover,” said Dan Goldman. “But I understand it’s a tall order for readers to drop $50 to check out a series new to them. Mangitas provides the perfect casual entry into the world of Red Light Properties, which should not be slept on (if I can toot my own horn for a minute).”

Additionally, Red Light Properties Mangitas will be Kinjin Storylab’s first titles distributed through Ingram, making them available to comic shops, zine shops, bookstores, libraries, and retailers worldwide.

The first three Mangitas will cover the complete first season of Red Light Properties, while the fourth brings stories currently serialized through Kinjin Storylab’s free newsletter into print for the very first time. Future Mangitas will follow every few months as the thrilling series continues.

Red Light Properties combines the supernatural suspense of The Conjuringwith the morally complex, bottom-feeder hustle of Better Call Saul, creating one of the most distinctive creator-owned series in independent comics today. In addition to inviting in new readers, the Mangita format allows for more frequent releases from the Eisner-nominated series in between the gorgeous hardcover releases.

Founded by Goldman in 2026, Kinjin Storylab is a creator-owned publishing studio developing original storyworlds through an innovative analog-digital loop of email serialization and premium print editions.

The first 200-page Red Light Properties Vol. 1 Mangita is slated to arrive this fall, with subsequent volumes releasing bi-monthly. Comic shops, bookstores, libraries, and retailers can order copies through Ingram distribution, while readers can follow the series in real time by joining Kinjin Storylab’s free newsletter at Kinjin.co for episode-4-story-preview-cuts-released/” title=”Goodbye, Lara Episode 4 Story & Preview Cuts Released”>episode drops from all upcoming comic projects.
