Kentucky will take on North Carolina in the LLSWS championship game on Sunday.
The Purple Bracket winner, Kentucky, from the Central Region, will battle the winner of the Orange Bracket, North Carolina, in the championship game of the Little League Softball World Series presented by Dick’s Sporting Goods on Sunday afternoon in Greenville, North Carolina. The Central Region is represented by the Daviess County Little League team out of Owensboro, Kentucky. They are 4-0 in the World Series thus far. They opened up on August 2nd with a massive win over the West Region, 11-1, following it up with a 15-1 win over the New England Region in the second game just a day later. Their 26-2 run differential was the best through two games of any team in the World Series.

Advancing to the semifinals of the Purple Bracket, Kentucky matched up with the Latin America Region, represented by Guayama Softball. That game proved to be more of a match as Daviess County won by just two runs, 2-0. However, their closest game was in the championship game of the bracket, when they beat Toms River LL and the Mid-Atlantic Region by one run, 2-1.
On the other side, North Carolina opened the Little League Softball World Series with a dominant 16-4 win over Canada and continued that dominance into the second game, edging out the Southwest Region representatives, Greater Helotes, 2-1.
Advancing to the semifinals, Johnston County LL took on Lake Mary from Florida, the representatives from the Southeast Region. They won that game handily, 5-2, to move onto the championship game of the bracket. After Lake Mary went to the losers’ bracket and beat the Northwest representatives, it set up a rematch between those two teams. Johnston County came out on top for a second time, 4-0, to set up this matchup in the championship game.
