Kelly Osbourne is reflecting on the many recent changes in her family

The 41-year-old penned an open letter to Sharon Osbourne on what would have been her mom’s her 46th wedding anniversary with late husband Ozzy Osbourne, who died July 22, 2025 at the age of 76

“Today feels different,” Kelly wrote on Instagram July 4. “A day that was once filled with celebration now carries a quiet ache. This is your first wedding anniversary without Daddy by your side, and I can only imagine how heavy your heart must feel. There are some dates that remind us just how deeply we have loved, and today is one of them.”

Married since 1980, Sharon and Ozzy shared an unbreakable bond until his passing last year

“I hope you know that love like yours doesn’t end when a life does,” Kelly continued. “It changes shape. It becomes the warmth of the sun on your face when you need comfort, the memories that make you smile through tears, the quiet moments when you somehow know he’s near. Daddy may no longer walk beside you, but he will never stop walking with you.”

Kelly shared that she often imagines the Black Sabbath frontman looking down on Sharon from Heaven “with that magical smile the one that held so much pride and so much love.”

“I know he would want you to see yourself through his eyes: resilient, compassionate, courageous, and endlessly loving,” the formerFashion Police cohost added. “Every day since he left, you’ve had to learn how to carry both grief and hope in the same heart, and somehow, you’ve continued to do it with extraordinary grace. He would be so incredibly proud of the woman you are becoming.”

Kelly—mom to 3-year-old son Sidney with ex Sid Wilson—also noted Ozzy’s kids——including Aimee Osbourne, 42, and Jack Osbourne, 40, with Sharon, as well as Louis Osbourne, Jessica Osbourne and Elliot Osbourne with ex-wife Thelma Riley—continue “to grow because of the love you both created.”

“Sidney and I love you more than words could ever hold,” she wrote. “He may not fully understand today, but he already knows what it feels like to be wrapped in your love.”

Kelly concluded her heart-wrenching letter by noting that, as Sharon faces more milestones and holidays without Ozzy by her side, her family will be there with support every step of the way

“We will hold your hand when the days are too heavy,” Kelly wrote, “celebrate your victories, sit with you in your sadness and remind you whenever you need reminding that love is still all around you.”

1972Ozzy, born John Michael Osbourne in Birmingham, England, in 1948, struggled with school early on. It was his passion for music that ultimately helped him move forward.
“I left school with a little more education than when I first started going,” he told The Associated Press in 2010. “Because of my dyslexia, I couldn’t learn. So, I was teased a lot by one of my sister about not bing able to read. It’s very shameful.”
“If it wasn’t for The Beatles turning me onto music in a big way, I don’t know what I would have done,” he continued. “Music has been the main thing that got me out of the area, the place I was born.”

1973In 1968, he and his friends formed Black Sabbath, inspired by the film of the same name, with their self-titled debut album earning major commercial success. In 1971, he married his first wife Thelma Riley, with whom he shared kids Jessica Osbourne, Louis Osbourne and Elliot Kingsley.

1980Ozzy was happy to sink his teeth into a macabre photo shoot. He was fired from Black Sabbath the year before due to his struggles with alcohol and drug abuse.
“Money would be the alcohol and the drugs and I behaved badly,” he said in his documentary Biography: The Nine Lives of Ozzy Osbourne of that time. “That was one of the lowest points of my life.”

1982Ozzy—as a solo artist—took the stage at Madison Square Garden for his Diary of a Madman tour, just two days after he infamously bit into a dead bat that was thrown onto the stage, which he believed was fake.
“I just thought it was a rubber bat,” Ozzy said in the documentary, “and I just put it in my mouth and crunched down. I just f–king bit into it, you know, being the f–king clown that I am [and was like], ‘Oh no! It’s real.'”
Later that year, he married his manager, Sharon Arden.

One year later, Ozzy and Sharon had taken a break after the latter had cheated on his wife. The couple ultimately reconciled, with Ozzy sharing on Good Morning America that they were “back on track again.”
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer had emphasized that Sharon was, in fact, the One.
“She’s the only one I’ve ever loved in my life,” he said of his wife during his documentary. “I mean, she’s my soulmate.”

2019Ozzy looked back at his star-studded life, realizing that he had done a lot during his 50-year career.
“I never thought I’d make it this far,” he told Rolling Stone in 2018 while reflecting on his career. “I don’t understand why I’m alive still after the hell-raising days. I guess whoever the man is upstairs, if there even is one, wants me to stick around.”
