In 2021, the world lost Betty White. This beloved actress passed away in her sleep at the age of 99. Shortly after White’s death, her friend and colleague Jamie Lee Curtis came up with a heartwarming way to honor the actress.
During the spotlight panel at New York Comic Con 2022, Jamie Lee Curtis said, “Betty White passed away. I was making a movie with her called You Again, and it was such a lovely movie that they asked me to do it. She was an animal rights activist, so I told them, I was like, ‘Look, if I can take a little rescue dog, I’ll just do it, because she was an animal rights activist.’ I went to the Oscars in her honor and said, “You know, Betty White was a very cool woman, she loved animals more than you, and I basically would like anyone in the world to adopt her.”
“That puppy’s name was Mac and Cheese. In honor of Betty White, let’s go help an animal today. If you love her, show her by helping an animal like a little mac and cheese. When I was in the dressing room I met John Trabolza. And his family lost Kelly Preston two years ago, and I communicated with him at the time. I ran into him in the dressing room and he had a little puppy, so I was like, ‘I’m going to go out and do it.’ ”
Travolta was immediately captivated. “Who do you think adopted the mac and cheese? And guess who sent the mac and cheese to his house in Florida the next day? If you follow John, go to his Instagram, you’ll see (photos and videos) of a little mac and cheese. Its name is Peanut now. That’s my John Travolta. That’s John Travolta.”
Be sure to Google “John Travolta Peanuts.” There are lots of great images of John Travolta and his adorable little dog. They look so cute together and I can’t think of a better way to honor Betty White.
