Jin Joong-kwon, a professor at Dongyang University, criticized the side effects of fandom politics, comparing the relationship between President Lee Jae Myung and the ruling party’s strong supporters to a “situation on the back of a tiger.”
According to the political community on the 30th, Professor Jin appeared on the Sisa Journal TV’s “The Last Time” the day before and said, “It was good when I rode a tiger and ran excitedly, but I can’t stop now. I’ve been riding a tiger so far, but when I’m about to get off, the tiger is about to bite me.”
Regarding the recent announcement by Kim Eo-jun, a ruling party-leaning broadcaster, that “the period of love is over” and that he will maintain a “friendship” in the future, he said, “The word friendship is just a wish.”
Professor Jin targeted Kim and the strong support group, saying, “It’s called critical support, but I don’t actually support it, but I just criticize it,” and added, “I’m saying that the criticism is ‘the right way we support you.'”
He continued, “We ostensibly put forward friendship, but in reality, we have already entered a relationship between hatred and hatred.”
Professor Jin evaluated the current situation as the result of the ruling party’s self-inflicted situation. He said, “We have been making good use of the atmosphere that they instigated, drove, and promoted, politically, but it can never come down from tigers and others.”
He also claimed that Kim has a considerable influence within the Democratic Party of Korea.
Professor Jin said, “Kim Eo-jun cannot even touch the representative of Lee Jae Myung. The power to actually move the Democratic Party comes from Kim’s fandom, not from the party leadership.”
“Lee Jae Myung seems to be in control of the party, but it is Kim Eo-jun who determines the direction of the fandom,” he said, adding, “A deformed structure has been established in which politicians look at his mouth and move.”
He also criticized President Lee for speaking out directly on the internal conflicts of the ruling camp through social networking services (SNS).
Professor Jin said, “The president participated in the Democratic Party’s civil war,” adding, “He is taking his side, and pushing that side as people who make money using other people’s good intentions.”
“The way we gather supporters from certain camps is hindering the Democratic Party’s rational decision-making,” he said. “This is why the entire party cannot escape the shadow of fandom politics.”
