As the autumn nights roll in and the weather turns cooler, there’s nothing better than getting cosy on the sofa and spending the entire evening binge-watching a gripping crime thriller. Thankfully, Netflix has just added the gritty crime series, Mayor of Kingstown, starring Jeremy Renner – and it’s not to be missed.
The Hawkeye actor leads the cast as Mike McLusky, taking over the family business of maintaining peace between gangs, inmates and police in Kingstown, Michigan, a city where “incarceration is its biggest business”.

Jeremy is brilliant as rugged fixer Mike in this fast-paced, high-tension thriller, which boasts an audience score of 89 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes.
Before you press play, here’s all you need to know about the show.

What is Mayor of Kingstown about?
Created by Yellowstone boss Taylor Sheridan with Hugh Dillon, the series follows Mike McLusky as he takes over as Kingstown’s unofficial mayor after his older brother Mitch (Kyle Chandler) is killed by a local criminal. For decades, the influential McLusky family has served as essential mediators bridging the divide between rival gangs, inmates, corrupt guards, law enforcement, and politicians. Now thrust into the role, Mike must maintain the peace while upholding his own moral code.

All four seasons of the Paramount+ series are available to stream on Netflix. Filming for the fifth and final season began in March 2026, with a <a href="https://comicvibe.com/netflix-reveals-first-look-at-toos-the-van-der-valk-kidnapping-and-its-release-date-is-no-coincidence/" title="Netflix Reveals First Look at 'Toos': The Van der Valk Kidnapping, And Its Release Date Is No Coincidence”>release date yet to be announced.
