San Diego Comic-Con is closing down, and I want to give all the spectacular DC items the coverage they deserve. The JazzInc Dioramas SDCC booth (Booth 2743) offers DC action figure collectors and pop-culture historians a front-row view of some of the most intricate, studio-accurate 1/6 scale environments and vehicle prototypes ever assembled under one roof.
From expansive Gotham City environments to precision-engineered vehicles, founder Joost Assink and the JazzInc team brought their premiere lineup directly to attendees. Thanks to Instagram user VictoriasCantina, has provided a breathtaking look at what makes JazzInc a powerhouse in custom collectible displays.
The 1989 Batman Universe Takes Center Stage
Headlining the booth display is a series of tributes to Tim Burton’s classic Batman (1989). On full display at the show is the newly unveiled 1/6 Scale 1989 Batcomputer setup alongside the 1/6 Scale 1989 Batman Armory Vault.
The 1989 Batcomputer setup captures every retro-futuristic detail of Bruce Wayne’s subterranean command center. Complete with glowing monitors, vintage keyboard arrays, and realistic cabling, the diorama is designed to host sixth-scale Batman figures in cinematic poses.
Flanking the Batcomputer display is the 1989 Batman Armory vault, constructed with clean industrial textures, functional hinged doors, and integrated LED lighting systems that illuminate Batman’s suit and gadgetry with museum-grade accuracy.
First Look at the 1/12 Scale 1989 Batmobile Prototype
While JazzInc initially earned its legendary reputation by crafting massive 1/6 scale vehicles, including their acclaimed 1/6 Batmobile and 1/6 Batwing, their SDCC 2026 showcase highlights an exciting expansion into the 1/12 (6-inch) scale realm.
Convention visitors at the booth were able to inspect the physical prototype of the 1/12 Scale 1989 Batmobile. Unlike mass-market plastic toys that rely on mirrored CAD files, JazzInc’s team engineered this piece to replicate the true asymmetrical geometry of Anton Furst’s original movie prop.
Key design elements showcased at the booth include:
- Asymmetrical Sidepods: Distinct left and right engine intake contours matching the screen-used vehicle.
- Shield-Shaped Canopy: Precision-molded canopy housing a fully detailed interior dashboard with illuminated instruments.
- Crowdfunding Availability: Scheduled to launch this September via JazzInc’s proprietary “Back the Build” platform. This gives 6-inch action figure collectors the ultimate vehicle for their Gotham displays.
Alongside the Batmobile prototype, JazzInc also showcased their newly released 1/12 scale Ultimate 1989 Batwing, demonstrating that smaller-scale collectibles do not have to sacrifice fine mechanical detail or built-in lighting.
Classical TV Lairs and Modern Innovations
The DC representation at the booth didn’t stop with the 1989 film universe. JazzInc also presented physical displays for their 1/6 Scale 1966 Batcave Ultimate Edition. Features include the iconic atomic pile generator, dynamic control panels, and Batpole entrance markers from the classic Adam West television era.
Additionally, figures from their DC license were highlighted, including the Wonder Woman (1976 TV Series) 1/6 Scale Figure modeled after Lynda Carter, alongside accessories tailored for various Batman generations.
Classic DC Animation in 1/6 Scale
The company also had multiple Batman: The Animated Series 1/6 scale figures on display as well. Each figure is meticulously crafted and the utmost care taken to replicate the likenesses from the series. On display were Batman, Harley Quinn, The Joker, and Robin.
