The Realest founder and CEO Scott Keeney joins Yahoo Finance Executive Editor Brian Sozzi to discuss why high-end memorabilia remains “wildly undervalued” despite market bubble concerns.

Is there a market building for CEO gear? And look, I have books signed by like billionaires. Scott, am I missing out on something here?

Um, no. I mean, there has been already. If you look at Apple, right? Steve Jobs stuff has sold for for a lot of money. I mean, even Wozniak’s stuff has sold for for significant amounts. And I think you’re just seeing the start of this for anything that is culturally relevant. I mean, we’ve seen it with declarations of independence. You’re talking dinosaur bones, right? Like things that have this intrinsic value and that have cultural cachet, it’s no different than than than art in my eyes.

Isn’t the, I mean that the the T-Rex that sold for $50.1 million. I mean it’s massive. But isn’t that the ultimate scarce asset? Like there’s no more dinosaurs, man.

Exactly, right? Like and and like what would what is rarer? That or some a painting that somebody made a hundred years ago or a jersey somebody wore last year, right? So like you start looking at all these things and while as crazy as these prices are, like we we said this years ago and they’re they’re only going up, especially on the the very, very high end.

Every not a day passes, Scott, where I don’t talk about a bubble in tech stocks and AI. Are we seeing a bubble in the collectibles market?

I think there might be in certain sectors, right? Like you see certain things like anything else that are overvalued, but we believe actually memorabilia is wildly undervalued and why while we anticipate these cleats to set a record and people are going to think that they are crazy because um, of of the price that they they go for. Um, I think when we look back at this in 5, 10 years from now, Brian, we’re going to be sitting here like, why did we not pull our stuff together? This was such an obvious play. You’re looking at one of the most famous individuals on the earth, modern day Babe Ruth, his most important footwear. Like, of course these are going to be worth, you know, whatever this is 5, 10 years from now. So I think uh, I think we’re still in the early innings, especially in sectors like a game worn memorabilia and these newer categories, um, that just haven’t been exposed. People have never seen had the ability to even like publicize, you know, CEO’s jackets really available. It’s it’s really an interesting era and I think we’re again, super early.
