Beat Shazam is back for an eighth season on Tuesday hosted by Academy Award winner Jamie Foxx and October Gonzalez.
The second episode of season eight of Beat Shazam sees teams of best friends, mechanics and physical therapists all testing their musical knowledge. Host Jamie Foxx and October Gonzalez bring this music challenge to the small screen for the eighth season. The series took a small break after debuting in 2017, running for seven consecutive seasons, and then going off the air in 2024. Heading into this season, there were a total of 89 episodes of Beat Shazam, setting up the historic 100th episode later this season. Now it is back, bringing the best music competition on television, not only testing the contestants’ knowledge, but their speed to Beat Shazam.

Foxx has been the host of Beat Shazamsince it debuted back in 2017. He has been a triple threat in entertainment as an actor, comedian and musician for over three decades. He won the Academy Award for Best Actor in 2005 for playing musician Ray Charles in Ray.
Foxx is best known in his music career for appearances in hit singles “Slow Jamz” and “Gold Digger.” He also featured in four singles that eigher toped or peaked at second on the US R&B Charts in “Blame It,” “Fall For Your Type,” “Unpredictable,” and “She Got Her Own.” Foxx has released five studio albums between 1994-2015.
