Fortnite’sPirate Shop Token is a much desired item following the conclusion of Chapter 7, coming with a mini-season that is now underway until Chapter 8 kicks off in approximately one month’s time.
This year’s theme is Treasure Hunters – and the 80-player capped mini-season, as always, introduces a new map, battle pass, and loot pool.
One Piece leads the way as the season’s main crossover, but it’s a specific item in Treasure Hunters’ loot pool that’s the talk of the town, the Pirate Shop Token.
What is the Pirate Shop Token?

If found, the Pirate Shop Token allows a player to claim every single cosmetic item from the Item Shop for free, so you can see why players are desperate to get their hands on it.
How to find the Pirate Shop Token, and what are the chances of it spawning?
As is the case with most other items in Fortnite’s current loot pool, the Pirate Shop Token will randomly spawn on the map in the types of places you usually pick up loot; in other words, loot chests.
You should open up every loot chest you see anyway, as it nets you XP and possibly a handful of decent items. You’re certainly not going to want to leave a chest unopened with the Pirate Shop Token in the mix though.
Of course, this is a rare item as Epic Games isn’t going to want to give this much free stuff away to too many players.
As such, the Pirate Shop Token has a very low spawn rate, so you’re going to need to be glued into the new season to be in with a chance of finding it.
Epic hasn’t confirmed the exact spawn rate but Twitter/X user LootTrackerFN estimated that between 30,000 and 50,000 chests were opened by 2,000,000 players during Treasure Hunters’ first day.
There were fewer than 10 reported winners, suggesting a success rate of less than 0.0005% of players or 0.0333% of opened chests.
Is the Pirate Shop Token between duos, trios, and squads?
Yes. Surprisingly, the Pirate Shop Token is shared among duos, trios, and squads. That means that if one player in a group finds it, all players within that group will get the reward of 28 days free shop access.
Your chances of finding the Pirate Shop Token are somewhat improved in a squad, then.
Yes, the spawn rate remains unchanged but if the Pirate Shop Token has spawned in, four players stand a better chance of finding it than one alone.
What can you get with the Pirate Shop Token?
If you’re lucky enough to find the Pirate Shop Token, you get a whopping 28 days of free access to Fortnite’s Item Shop, split into two 14-day chunks.
The first 14-day window unlocks for a player as soon as the Pirate Shop Token is found. You can then log into the Item Shop 14-days in a row and claim every single item for free, returning to claim additional items as the shop refreshes and changes within that 14-day window.
A second 14-day window is then due to unlock sometime in 2027, so you get another two weeks to hoover up every item in the constantly-changing line-up.
That includes skins, backblings, gliders, and emotes. You could end up with hundreds, if not thousands, of real-life dollars worth of in-game items at no cost whatsoever.
Battle pass levels and rewards are excluded from the offer, and there is a limitation on sidekicks with players only able to claim one for free that they do not already own.
Once you’ve found the coin, return to the item shop, where you’ll be met with the option to “Plunder the Item Shop”. Select “Activate Now” and your free 14-day 2026 access will begin.
You do have to claim everything in the item shop, so don’t expect things to automatically land in your account during that 14-day period.
