We’ve talked a lot about Big Walk this week, but buckle up, because we’re about to talk about it some more.

The latest addition to PlayStation Plus has taken gamers by storm for its cosy, chill atmosphere and thought-provoking puzzles.

After playing it a bunch ourselves, we can easily see what all of the fuss is about, and would easily consider it a contender for Game of the Year.

For those yet to play it, Big Walk is an open-world game about wandering around an island with your friends. You can just explore and chat if you’d like, but the real goal is to collect red prizes that activate the game’s many towers, eventually unlocking the end-game area.

It’s become a great late-night game to play when we’re looking to unwind, but it actually feels like much more than that…

Big Walk isn’t just moreish; it’s an enigma that compels you to solve it

We’ve been trying our best to take things slowly and really enjoyeverything Big Walk has to offer, but the game’s slower pace is counteracted by its overarching mystery.

Strange silos, bunkers, the towers themselves, and a menacing black orb stood against the horizon; all work in tandem to motivate players. In our experience, we’ve gone to put the game down only to quickly change our mind upon spotting an ‘easy’ puzzle off in the distance. “Let’s just complete this one, and then we’ll go to bed”, we say as the clock nears 1am. “Oh, if we get one more red thing, we can finally get the trains working; let’s do that quickly.”

The world ofBig Walk feels like an enormous set of jingling keys attracting our attention, and we’re obviously not the only ones.

Something I’ve appreciated in particular is how the game doesn’t feel more or less enjoyable depending on how many players you have with you.

Our merry band of four works well on most evenings, but on the odd day where only two of us can hop on it hasn’t felt any different. The puzzles are still engaging, the vibes still chill and the mystery still worth solving. It truly is the best addition to PlayStation Plus we’ve had in years.

    IsBig Walk getting new content?

As expected, many players are already wanting to know if DLC is on the way, and what kind of form it can take.

The developers, House House, recentlytook to Redditto answer some questions from the community, and many were about any additional content in the pipeline.

Unfortunately, House House has nothing to share as of yet, but given the game’s popularity, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see more at some point in the future. To throw our two cents in, we’d rather see a new game than an expansion to this one.
