hololive is officially getting its first-ever TV anime, with Cover announcing a major new animated project that will bring the agency’s hugely popular VTubers to television ahead of its 10th anniversary.

The currently untitled series is being produced by Studio KAI, which has already worked on numerous official hololive animations and music videos and will now take on the agency’s first full television anime.

Although hololive is no stranger to animated content, the new project marks a significant step beyond its existing releases, which include the weekly 3D animated series “holo no graffiti” that first began streaming in 2019.

Cover says the TV anime will bring together the individual charms of hololive’s talents, but virtually everything about what that will actually mean for the story remains under wraps.

No official title, storyline or wider character lineup has been announced yet, with the first teaser instead introducing the mysterious abbre

Exactly what “OdeHolo” stands for is also being deliberately kept secret, with fans being encouraged to share their theories ahead of the full reveal later this month.

The anime was announced during “hololive Next 2026.9.7,” a new information program launched as hololive production celebrated its ninth anniversary on September 7.

The timing begins a year-long countdown toward the agency’s 10th anniversary on September 7, 2027, with the anime forming one of several projects being prepared to mark the milestone.

hololive has steadily expanded beyond its original livestreaming focus through music, concerts, games and mixed-media projects, including “hololive Alternative,” making a dedicated TV anime one of its biggest moves into more traditional entertainment so far.

Studio KAI’s involvement also gives the project a direct connection to hololive’s previous animation work, with Cover specifically highlighting the studio’s familiarity with both the setting and personalities of its talents.

Fans won’t have to wait long to find out what form the series will take, as Cover has scheduled a dedicated “OdeHolo Information Reveal Program” for September 23 from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM JST.

The livestream will feature Momosuzu Nene, Omaru Polka, Yukihana Lamy and Shishiro Botan, with Shirakami Fubuki and Ookami Mio serving as MCs, although Cover has not yet confirmed whether their appearance in the program reflects the eventual anime cast.

Visuals, further information about the story and the meaning behind “OdeHolo” are all scheduled to be revealed during the September 23 broadcast, giving fans their first proper look at what hololive’s debut TV anime will actually be.
