As audiences head to theaters to see the latest entry in the DC Universe with Supergirl, the studio is moving forward with its long-teased Superman spinoff series, DC Crime, featuring Skyler Gisondo’s Jimmy Olsen in the central role
According to Entertainment Weekly, the new HBO Max show will act as an anthology series detailing some of the DC Universe’s most infamous criminals, starting with the Man of Steel’s recurring villain, Gorilla Grodd

As per EW,American Vandalstar Jimmy Tatro will portray the iconic DC villain in the new series, with various DC heads teasing Grodd’s debut in the franchise at some point in the near future
As DC Studios co-head and Superman director James Gunn previously told EW, “I love Gorilla Grodd, so got other plans for that guy.”
Along with serving as one of Superman’s oldest and most endearing villains, Grodd also regularly appears as a formidable foe to DC’s Flash. A hyper-intelligent talking gorilla with telekinetic abilities, Grodd first appeared in the pages of The Flash #106 in 1959, quickly becoming one of the most popular villains in DC’s Silver Age
Further details about the new show are still unknown, but the new DC Crime series will follow in the wake of several other DC spinoff series like Creature Commandos, Peacemakerand the upcomingLanterns
