Harry Styles first captured the world’s attention as a charismatic young singer from Holmes Chapel, Cheshire, England. After showing an early passion for music and performing with a local band, he auditioned as a solo contestant for the UK’s televised singing competition, “The X Factor”. While he did not advance as a solo artist, he was brought back and grouped with four other contestants to form the band One Direction.
