    Highlights

    • BTS member Jimin’s solo track Whofrom his album MUSEtopped 2.5 billion Spotify streams on July 30.
    • Whobecame Spotify’s most-streamed K-pop song released in 2024 and won K-pop Song of the Year at the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards.
    • The milestone extends Jimin’s streaming record as BTS members continue to post strong performances collectively as a group as well.

BTS member Jimin has hit a new personal streaming record on Spotify, with his solo single Who.The song, notably, crossed the 2.5 billion stream mark on July 30, as per his agency BigHit Music, under HYBE.

The hip-hop and R&B track, released in July 2024, is the lead single for his second solo album Muse. The song interestingly achieved the milestone nearly two years post debut, marking the highest streaming total across his solo discography.

Global Chart Presence of Jimin’s Who

BTS Jimin’s Whoshowcased a rare domestic and international longevity for a K-pop solo release. The song entered at No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 (August 3, 2024, chart) before sustaining a 33-week run on the main U.S. singles tally through March 2025. The track also recorded two weeks of success at No. 1 on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts in August 2024, alongside a No. 4 debut in the U.K. Official Singles Chart during the same time.

    Catalog Strength and Strategic Positioning

The 2.5 billion stream achievement secures Whoits position as Spotify’s most-streamed K-pop songglobally for 2024, leveraging stable catalog consumption instead of short-lived debut surges. The track earlier had earned K-pop Song of the Year honors at the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards.

The milestone expands the wider streaming ecosystem built by BTS and HYBE. Within the group’s global footprint, Who,joins multi-billion-stream assets like Dynamite, Idol, and Butter, all of which recently logged over 2B, 1.4B, and 1.1B views separately on YouTube. As for Who, it has recorded over 160M views on the video platform in two years. Simultaneously, the group’s track Aliensfrom their fifth studio album ARIRANG has topped the iTunes chart in 78 markets.

The timing aligns with a shift in the group’s institutional stance. On July 29, all BTS members announced on social media that the group chose not to submit their latest release for the Grammysin this cycle, indicating an increased focus on global consumer reach over Western award recognition.
