HUNTER x HUNTER is the latest Weekly Shonen Jump series to get a new music video as part of the JUMP MV collaboration project. The new video features Yoshihiro Togashi’s long-running manga with Sakurazaka46’s song “Unhappy birthday構文” (“Unhappy Birthday Syntax”) and premiered on the official Shonen Jump YouTube channel on August 2.

The collaboration marks the 57th entry in the JUMP MV series, an initiative that combines Shonen Jump manga with songs from Sony Music artists through special music videos. Among appearing characters Hisoka, Chrollo, and Kurapika. Check it out below.

HUNTER x HUNTER by Yoshihiro Togashi has been serialized since 1998 and has surpassed 84 million copies in circulation worldwide, including digital editions. The manga returned after a 4-year hiatus in October 2022.

Since then, there have been irregular releases, and the manga was confirmed to be moving away from a weekly schedule in December 2022. The manga released Volume 38 on September 4, 2024 in Japan, while Chapter 401 was released in the WSJ magazine on October 7 of the same year.

Crunchyroll is streaming the <a href="https://comicvibe.com/summer-2026-anime-rankings-week-4/” title=”Summer 2026 Anime Rankings – Week 4″>anime, describing the story:
Gon, a young boy who lives on Whale Island, dreams of becoming a Hunter like his father, who left when Gon was still young.

The featured song comes from Japanese idol group Sakurazaka46, formerly known as Keyakizaka46. The group has become one of Japan’s most successful idol acts in recent years, with dome tours, overseas performances, and a two-day 5th anniversary concert at Japan National Stadium in 2026 drawing approximately 140,000 attendees. An Asian tour is also planned for 2027.

The JUMP MV project launched with a Naruto collaboration and regularly creates music videos that combine WSJ manga with songs from Sony Music artists. More recently, the initiative released collaborations featuring BLEACHand Haikyu.

The franchise released two new games since then: HUNTER x HUNTER: NEN IMPACT, which launched on July 17, 2025, and HUNTERxHUNTER NENxSURVIVOR, which launched on February 17, 2026.
