Headlines were made back in March when it was announced that you’d be able to smoke weed in Halloween: The Game, but that’s hardly the most controversial aspect of the game.
Launched this past Friday in Early Access for those who pre-ordered the Digital Deluxe Edition, Halloween: The Game has a mini game feature that allows the characters to have sex!
Well, at least it did earlier this weekend…
How it worked was that when two civilian characters ended up in a closet together, one could “ask out” the other one. If both characters consented, it would trigger a mini game within the closet that allowed the characters to make love off screen. Sex is of course a staple of the early slasher movement, but it seems the unique mini game brought an unintended side effect along with it.
While most of the characters you get to play as in Halloween: The Game are Haddonfield teenagers, Donald Pleasence’s Doctor Loomis is also a playable character. And when a video went viral this weekend of Loomis having sex with a Haddonfield teen in a closet, well, it seems that Illfonic had no choice but to pull the “ask out” mini game feature out of the game entirely.
Illfonic hasn’t actually addressed any of this at this point in time, and it’s possible the mini game could be re-added to the game in a way that doesn’t allow anyone playing as Loomis to engage in any sexual activity. But it’s also possible the mini game never makes a return in any capacity.
We’ll let you know if we hear any official updates on this controversial feature.
Halloween: The Game will be available to everyone (digitally) on September 8.
