GTA 6 is just around the corner, and there is no doubt that many of the top creators will be streaming the game. The main competition is expected to be between Kick and Twitch, but it looks like the Stake-backed platform is already leading in the GTA viewership trend.

NoPixel is one of the leading
    GTA RP servers
in the world, and it recently went live in a closed beta. Several streamers, including both Kick and Twitch creators, were given access to the server so they could play and stream. The timing for this is interesting, as GTA 6 will be releasing on November 19. This appears to be a way to capitalize on GTA 6’s hype, but what’s more interesting is how the viewership has changed on Kick and Twitch.

GTA 6 will be released in roughly two months, and the viewership for GTA V has seen a major shift on Kick and Twitch. According to Stream Charts, in July 2026 Twitch saw one of its lowest monthly results with 68.6k average viewers, while
Kick saw its highest with 112.3k average viewers for the same period. The difference in hours watched was also massive, with Kick generating 82.5 million and Twitch being significantly behind with 49.5 million.

The important thing to note here is that it wasn’t a one-month fluke on Kick’s end, as the Stake-backed platform’s GTA V viewers have been increasing consistently. Kick was averaging 71.4k viewers in January with 316 channels. The viewers increased drastically in July, but the GTA V channels also went up to 428. In stark contrast,
Twitch’s GTA V viewership has been on a downward spiral since 2025.
The platform was averaging 94.8 thousand in July 2025, but the number of active GTA V channels dropped 19% by June 2026, which may explain why the viewership also saw a change.

Kick gained the upper hand on Twitch in terms of GTA V hours watched in 2025, but Twitch lost its lead in viewership in April 2026, when Kick crossed 100k average viewers, while Twitch remained closer to the 80k mark. Since then,
Kick’s GTA V viewership has been consistently increasing, and the gap between it and Twitch is getting larger by the month.
However, it’s important to consider why and how Kick overtook Twitch in April. Kick has historically had three GTA categories: GTA V, Respect RP, and NoPixel RP.

In April, Kick merged all three in the main GTA V category, which helped boost its numbers substantially. This is because Respect RP and
    NoPixel RP
generated roughly 10 million hours of watch time per month. However, despite this move and its effect on the stats, this doesn’t change the fact that the wider viewership trend shows that Kick has been gaining viewers monthly. There are several variables involved in why GTA V is dominating on Kick.

How did Kick overtake Twitch in GTA V viewership?

There isn’t a single answer to this question, as there are several elements that could have contributed to Kick’s growth, with one major one being that Twitch was bleeding viewers. However, Kick didn’t only bring in Twitch viewers to grow. According to Stream Charts, 12 streamers who were streaming on both platforms generated 59% of their combined GTA V hours watched on Twitch in January. This figure was down to just 10% by July, but their combined watch time had increased by 16%.
This indicates Kick’s growth isn’t just because Twitch streamers disappeared.

Egyptian streamer Amr “3mr” Diab was Kick’s most-watched GTA V creator during H1 2026, and his
    watch hours were almost double
those of Twitch’s GTA V most-watched creator, Toma “JLTomy” Abdellaoui.  3mr’s content revolves heavily around GTA RP, with the streamer broadcasting longer-duration streams, as long as 20+ hours. This indicates that even if a Twitch GTA V creator was generating the same average viewers as 3mr, the Kick streamer would be in the lead due to his massively longer broadcasts.

The data also shows a correlation between 3mr, sxb, and drb7h, as all three are Arabic-speaking creators. sxb reached a peak of over 200k viewers, and drb7h has peaked at nearly 150k. This highlights
Kick’s expanding presence in the MENA market
and can likely be another reason for the platform’s growing GTA V viewers. There is more evidence supporting this, as GTA RP servers Vision RP and Mystery Town are both based in MENA and are large contributors to Kick’s GTA V category. 3mr is a creator who streams Vision RP content, and Mystery Town reportedly gets 20+ million monthly views across all its broadcasts.

    ☑️ Writer’s Take

Kick has also been growing, and ironically, GTA V has actually become a smaller part of the platform’s overall audience.

Despite that, several factors have helped Kick overtake Twitch in GTA V viewership. If these trends continue, Kick could further widen its lead in GTA V hours watched while Twitch’s share of the category continues to decline. That could prove particularly valuable ahead of GTA 6, giving Kick an established GTA audience that it can potentially carry into the game’s release
