The Grimoire in Clover Time gives you access to multiple unique spells that you can utilize in combat. The spells you get come from the type of Grimoire you’re holding, and there are multiple that you can unlock. Some are distinctly superior to others, which also comes down to how rare they are to get. Here we’ll be sharing a full tier list of the best Grimoires you can use while playing Clover Time.

Grimoire Tier List in Clover Time

Each Grimoire has a different rarity attached to it at the Grimoire tower. If you want to have a chance at getting a new one, you’ll need to use a Crystal Mana to read one, providing you a chance to get one of the available options. There are pity rolls for each of the highest rarity types to ensure you eventually have a chance to unlock one of them.

Here’s our ranking of each Grimoire that you can use while playing Clover Time.

    All Tier Ranks and Grimoires
    Tier Rank Grimoires
    S-Tier Anti Magic Grimoire
    Blood Grimoire
    Explosive Flame Grimoire
    Necromancer Grimoire
    Shadow Grimoire
    A-Tier Battle Lightning Grimoire
    Bronze Grimoire
    Poison Grimoire
    Thunder Grimoire
    B-Tier Ashes Grimoire
    Chain Grimoire
    Ice Grimoire
    Snow Grimoire
    C-Tier Earth Grimoire
    Fire Grimoire
    Water Grimoire

    S-Tier Grimoires

    All S-Tier Grimoires
    Tier Rank Spells Reasoning
Anti Magic Grimoire Anti Magic Cut, Counter, Dual Slashes, Dual Spin, and Rush Divider Anti Magic Cut is a standard forward slash with your massive sword, which will be what you’re using to comb into your spells. Counter is one you have to trigger before an enemy attack, and if you do it correctly, you’ll protect against the damage, sending the enemy back. Dual Slashes has you using both swords that send out a range attack in front of you, Dual Spin has you spinning with your massive sword and smaller one, damaging any enemies that get close to you. Rush Divider has you dive at an enemy, holding onto them until they get knocked down to the ground.

There are a lot of spells going on with this book, and they are powerful. You’ll be able to push enemies around, protect yourself, hit them when they’re up close, and have spell options for when they’re at range. It’s a fantastic all-around book with excellent spells.

Blood Grimoire Blood Scythe, Blood Reaper, Blood Crows, Blood Slash, Blood Siphon, Blood Tornado, and Blood Ocean Blood Scythe allows you to create a scythe that you can use instead of your basic attacks, Blood Reaper sends out a spinning scythe in a line in front of you before returning, Blood Crows sends out a pair of crows at enemies before they come right back to you, Blood Slash is a short-range area-of-effect sword slash attack, and Blood Siphon does damage to all nearby enemies, taking their health and allowing you to heal. Blood Tornado allows you to create a tornado effect that seeks out enemies for a short time, and Blood Ocean sends an enemy onto a spike and you perform an area-of-effect attack around them.

Blood Grimoire is easily one of the best choices you can use in Clover Time. These attacks hit hard, are massive, and offer a variety of options available to you. The added pin with Blood Ocean is great, along with several attacks that directly seek out enemies. Plus, you can heal yourself with Blood Siphon, which is always a nice touch.

Explosive Flame Grimoire Baseball Style, Blazing Shot, Flame Thrower, Flame Pillar, and Hellfire Explosion Baseball Style gives you a flame bat that changes up your attacks to use baseball-like moves against an enemy, Blazing Shot sends out a quick fireball from your position to a target in front of you, Flame Thrower sends out a wave of flames in front of you at a short distance, Flame Pillar sends out a wave-line attack forward from your position, and Hellfire Explosion sends out a massive area-of-effect eruption to enemies around you.

These spells are a great way to hit multiple enemies and have a varied moveset in combat. Although it is not one of the rarer ones, it’s an excellent Grimoire to have in your arsenal.

Necromancer Grimoire Grave Legion, Necro Orbs, Storm Thrall, Soul Ward, and Grave Colossus Grave Legion summons multiple zombies that seek out nearby enemies immediately fighting while following you around, Necro Orbs creates a zombie with purple orbs that float around them that fly out to hit enemies at range, and the Storm Thrall creates a zombie that fires out lightning bolts against enemies. The Soul Ward creates a protective shield around you, and the Grave Colossus summons a large zombie giant that deals heavy damage to single targets (and can take a lot of damage, too).

Being able to summon multiple zombies at the same time with these spells makes it great. Although you can’t directly control them, the damage from these zombies makes them a solid option for anyone who doesn’t want to micromanage their attacks, and allows these zombies to go crazy on any target they come across.

Shadow Grimoire Transform: Felis, Transform: Gallus, Shadow Field, Summon Roster: Walgrim, Summon, and Rooster: Walgrim Transform: Felis allows you to transform into a cat-based figure with augment attacks that focus on rushing targets and performing melee attacks. Transform: Gallus transforms you into a bird figure for advanced movement, scouting, and ranged attacks. Shadow Field gives you a short cutscene as you unleash a shadow attack against a specific target, heavily damaging them. Summon Cat: Plumette and Summon Rooster: Walgrim give you shadow summons that you can direct to attack enemies. You can activate them at different times, or simultaneously.

There’s a lot going on with this Grimoire, and it can be overwhelming. You’ll be bouncing between the two forms of Felis and Gallus, likely focusing more on Felis when you’re fighting someone. The Summons you have also need to be managed so they can focus on the same targets you’re fighting, rather than them fighting elsewhere.

The Grimoires in the S-tier are the best choices you can get in Clover Time. These are the ones you always want to aim for, and should be trying to get above all the others, especially to take on the toughest encounters in the game. These Grimoires were chosen for their spell variety, and how much they can potentially deal to multiple targets.

    A-Tier Grimoires

    All A-Tier Grimoires
    Grimoires Spells Reasoning
Battle Lightning Grimoire Thunder Discharge, Thunderlord’s Beacon, Volt Breaker, Lightning Beast Claws, Thunder Execution, and Overvolt Thunder Discharge is a close-range forward attack that you can hold, Thunderlord’s Beacon creates a massive area-of-effect at a set location that sends lightning down to foes, Volt Breaker has you dash forward and hit an enemy (or a wall) knocking them down for a short time, Lightning Beast Claws give your arms stronger basic and ability attacks. Thunder Execution gives lightning to your body to damage enemies that hit you, and Overvolt turns your melee attacks into lightning-based attacks.

Battle Lightning has several spells attached to its book, and you can use them to increase your character’s basic attacks or augment their ability attacks during combat. The overall damage is good, with decent tick damage to health, but not as strong as the ones in S-tier.

Bronze Grimoire Bronze Spear, Bronze Prison, Bronze Motorcycle, and Bronze Perfection Bronze Spear lets you create a spear that you can aim and shoot at someone, Bronze Prison creates a large area-of-effect that keeps them in place, Bronze Motorcycle allows you to summon a motorcycle and move faster, and Bronze Perfection creates a shield around you to protect you and damage enemies. These spells are good and defensive, but they lack heavy damage that you might want in the later game for Clover Time.
Poison Grimoire Poison Bullet, Poison Mist, Toxic Explosion, and Toxic Cloud Poison Bullet sends out a shot of poison at a target, Poison Mist releases a massive poison cloud area-of-effect around you or a different location, Toxic Explosion sends out a small area-of-effect blast to a concentrated area, and Toxic Clone creates a clone of your character to assist in battle. These are excellent spells that you can use against an enemy, and the attack variety makes Poison Grimoire one of the better choices.
Thunder Grimoire Lightning Shots, Thunder Step, Lightning Cage, and Thunder God Lightning Shots sends out a lightning bolt to enemies in front of you, Thunder Steps increases your movement speed and does damage that you pass through, Lightning Cage creates an electric field around a target, preventing them from leaving and damaging them around the cage, and the Thunder God spell fires down a massive area-of-effect at a specific target, heavily damaging them.

These spells are solid, and do decent damage, but it’s one of the lower Grimoires that is close to hitting B-tier.

The Grimoires in the A-tier are solid options. These are ones that we would recommend and feel that they do good, but they’re not quite as good as the choices in S-tier. This might be because the spells are not as powerful, or they can’t hit as many targets, and the spells have too long of a cooldown.

    B-Tier Grimoires

    All B-Tier Grimoires
    Tier Rank Spells Reasoning
Ashes Grimoire Cinder Tendrils, Ashen Seekers, Cinder Sentinel, and Ashen Cataclysm Cinder Tendrils sends out a wave of tentacles at a target in front of you, Ashen Seekers sends out multiple projectiles that focus on the closest target, Cinder Sentinel creates a massive ball that follows you, damaging any enemies that get close, and Ashen Cataclysm is a massive area-of-effect attack that heavily hits any nearby targets.

It’s easily one of the stronger B-tier Grimoires given its massive area-of-effect attacks, and the Cinder Sentinel is a fantastic spell that consistently protects you. The first two spells are the subpar choices that knock this Grimoire down from A to B, but Ashen Sentinel and Cataclysm are great.

Chain Grimoire Chain Barrage, Chain Heavy, and Chain Stun Chain Barrage sends out multiple chains in front of you that you can hold to do sustained damage, Chain Heavy sends out a wave of chains in front of you that does two hits, and Chain Stun allows you to stun a nearby target for a short time. The stun is nice, as is the sustained damage. While Chain Grimoire has three spells, these attacks are close-range, but better than the C-Tier Grimoires.
Ice Grimoire Ice Spikes, Hailstorm, and Absolute Zero You can hold Ice Spikes to send out a wave of massive ice spikes around you to multiple enemies, use Hailstorm to hit a large area-of-effect against multiple enemies, or use Absolute Zero to send massive ice spikes to enemies around you. The varied attacks for this spell are nice, especially the large area-of-effect, but they don’t do too much damage, and Absolute Zero has a long cooldown.
Snow Grimoire Snow Barrage, Snow Storm, and Snow Friends Snow Barrage allows you to fire snowballs against enemies, the Snow Storm is an area-of-effect at a specific spot further away from you, and you can hold it to do more damage. Finally, Snow Friends creates a pair of snowmen who attack nearby enemies who are aggressive against you. Although the Snow Grimoire is a low-tier Grimoire, because it has three spells, it’s a better option than the other C-tier Grimoires.

The B-tier Grimoires are in an okay category. These are good to have when you’re first starting out Clover Time, and you still need to get more Crystal Mana to roll for potentially stronger ones. Basically, these are good in a pinch, but try to upgrade them to a different Grimoire in the A or S-tier categories.

    C-Tier Grimoires

    All C-Tier Grimoires
    Tier Rank Spells Reasoning
Earth Grimoire Stone Push and Stone Edge The Stone Edge spell sends out a column of earth straight in front of you, and the Stone Push spell creates a wall that goes out in front of you. These are decent spells, but they’re fairly short-range. You’ll need to be close to enemies to damage them, and the high cooldown makes it a subpar set of options.
Fire Grimoire Fire Ball and Fire Ground Fire Ground creates a massive area-of-effect around you, damaging nearby enemies, and Fire Ball allows you to send a fire ball forward at a foe that explodes. These are okay to have in the early game, but they’re short-lived spells.
Water Grimoire Water Sprout and Water Barrage Water Barrage unleashes multiple shots of water at an enemy in front of you, and Water Sprout fires out a massive column of water that you can move around. These are decent, but nothing too advanced.

The Grimoires in the C-tier are the lowest of the low. We don’t recommend them, outside of having no other options. The spells from these books are fairly weak, and you’d be better off going with a different option as soon as possible.
