If you grew up in the ’90s, then R.L. Stine‘s Goosebumpsseared into your brain in one way or another. For some, maybe you remember seeing the frighteningly gorgeous cover art of his book series, whose neon colors popped off the library shelf. For others, you might be more familiar with the TV series adaptation, which put a live-action spin on his stories. No matter what story might be your favorite, there’s no more beloved figure from the Goosebumps books than Slappy, the ventriloquism doll from Night of the Living Dummy.
All you had to do was see the cover of the original book and it would immediately give you nightmares, and if you read the book or watched the series, any sound you heard in your room at night would make you wonder if Slappy was scurrying around. In a new collectible gift set, you can prank any young Goosebumps fans, courtesy of the Hide and Scare Slappy. The set is available now for preorder before releasing on July 6, 2027.
The new gift set takes a page out of the Elf on a Shelf playbook and comes with a Slappy doll, the original book, and an all-new prank book. This collectible set includes:

- A retro edition of Night of the Living Dummy: The classic that started it all, featuring original cover art.
Given how memorable the character is, it only made sense that, when Goosebumps finally jumped to the big screen in 2015, Slappy was a central figure in the narrative. He also returned for the sequel, Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween, and the Disney+Goosebumps series. Following the cancellation of that series, it’s unknown what the future holds for the franchise outside of the books.
