Ghost of Tsushima anime gets first teaser trailer

All the way back in 2023, we first heard reports that Sony was working on an anime based on the console maker’s popular Ghost of Tsushima IP. Officially announced last year, we have now gotten our first proper look at the project, with a teaser trailer having been released

Releasing a stylish-yet-vague teaser trailer, <a href="https://comicvibe.com/diy-steam-controller-puck-offers-xbox-switch-playstation-emulation-modes/” title=”DIY Steam Controller Puck Offers Xbox, Switch, PlayStation Emulation Modes”>PlayStation / Crunchyroll officially unveiled Ghost of Tsushima Legends. While little could be gleaned from the trailer itself, we did get a new description for the upcoming anime – which reads as follows: “Ghost of Tsushima Legends follows one of the last remaining samurai as he defends his homeland of Tsushima against the Mongol Empire.”

Alongside these basic plot details, we also got a breakdown of the crew behind the project, with the following creatives said to be in charge:

    • Director: Takanobu Mizuno (Star Wars Visions)
    • Produced by: HAYATE Inc (joint venture between Aniplex and Crunchyroll)
    • Script: Satoshi Maejima and Gen Urobuchi (Nitroplus)
    • Character designs: Takashi Okazaki (Afro Samurai creator)
    • Animation Studio: KAMIKAZE DOUGA (known for Star Wars Visions; Ninja Batman and Pop Team Epic)

While no official release date has been offered, the anime was previously announced to be arriving some time in 2027, and so expect GoT: Legends to release some time next year

Ghost of Tsushima is by far one of Sony’s biggest new IPs in some time, and so it makes sense for them to capitalise on its success. Hopefully we learn more about the previously-announced live-action film adaptation soon enough
